iFind is a location based service that enables instant location of family, friends and workmates by phone or any internet capable device. iFind displays a map or text information identifying the location of the individual/s on the mobile or internet device.

iFind utilises the Telstra Mobile Location Manager System (MLM) with accuracy better than 500m in CBD and ~ 1km for surrounding suburbs. The system is secure and only allows access with the approval of the mobile phone owner by push SMS. Approval for positioning access can be set to a one off request or every request. Blacklist and white list functionality is also available.

The Telstra system delivers latitude and longitude co-ordinates which are translated into mapping data provided by Sensis.

The project very closely follows the Rational Unified Process with all relevant artefacts produced for every stage of the software development.
