City of Melbourne currently uses more than 300 applications. Each of these applications can vary in terms of the departments it belongs to, the key stakeholders, business owners, platforms they use, the services they provide, the database they access and the dependencies between the applications.

The purpose of the project is to clearly identify each of these applications and their dependencies with other applications within the organization. This involves storing, retrieving and maintaining possible relationships within the datasets internal to each application.

The major deliverables of the project are:

• Store and retrieve accurate application dependencies
• Provide Ad hoc reporting facility
• Increased graphical representation of links between applications
• Enhanced search options
• Multi-user control and management (enhanced security)
