OVERVIEW
The purpose of this project is to design and build a software system to automate the process of informing farmers of the amount of irrigation needed daily. The core of the project is to create a set of software tools to collect environment data from probes, analyse the data to determine irrigation information for the farmers, and make the processed data available to farmers.

OBJECTIVES
    Mandatory:
  • The key objective of the project is providing irrigators with the amount of water "used/lost" the previous day. Armed with this information the farmers can confidently adjust the amount of water they apply.
  • The project automates the process of dialling the remote environment probes (Weather Stations) and gathering data.
  • The process of analysing the data collected from remote environment probes is also automated.
    Research:
  • To design the system in such a way that the Implementation works with different type of data loggers with different configurations.
  • To automate the process of distributing analysed report to subscribed farmers over various media (sms, fax, email).
    Other:
  • To maintain ethical coding standard and software development standards discussed in requirement phase.
  • To coordinate team tasks and maintain schedules\deadlines.
  • To achieve user satisfaction and meet the sponsor’s expectations.
