OVERVIEW

The project team is to develop a system that implements one of the innovative concepts of R & D team at Sensis. Primarily, an application needs to be developed which will calculate the number of foot-steps required for a user to walk from a source to a destination and then calculate the number of calories burnt while traversing the route. The application to be developed shall use the existing tool Whereis®.

OBJECTIVES

The major functional objectives are to:

    • Allow users to select a source and destination from location map
    • Draw an animated route on a map from the selected source to the destination
    • Calculate the number of foot-steps required to walk en route
    • Calculate the number of calories burnt during the same

The minor objectives are to:

    • If a stop-over is selected, allow the user to enter a desired number of kilometres to walk or desired number of calories to burn
    • Based on user’s preference, an alternative/ appropriate route is displayed along the map
